Samsung Galaxy Note N7000B has been released this week by AT&T and only a few hours after that, some guys managed to create a root for the new device. Here you can find all instructions you need in order to successfully root your AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note N7000B. Make sure to read all the steps and all the info that is listed, because otherwise you might be forced to repeat all the steps and that is something that i’m sure you don’t want to happen.

Samsung Galaxy Note N7000B comes packed with the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system and it is very similar to Samsung Infuse 4G and popular Samsung Galaxy S2. It was described as a hybrid between a large smartphone and a tiny tablet. It comes packed with a 2500 mAh battery in order to keep up with the giant 720p AMOLED screen, a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, a 32GB storage drive and support for an additional SDcard up to 32MB  of storage space, the camera features 8 Mpx 3 with support for auto focus, 1080p 30fps Full HD video recording and single LED flash. It features numerous other great hardware components and enough applications to help you easily configure your Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and all the othe social networking accounts.

The Samsung Galaxy Note has been launched in October 2011 and it features a 5.3 inch size screen. AT&T released their own branded Galaxy Note N7000B device in February 2012. This tutorial guide works only with the AT&T device, which means that the SIM-free devices aren’t supported by this root. So, if your device is AT&T branded then you are free to use the instructions listed here and root your Galaxy Note. Before we can move to the first step of the rooting process you need to read the info listed below and correctly prepare yourself, the phone and PC for it. Here’s what you need to know before starting the root process:

make sure to backup all the data files currently stored on your phone

save your SMS, Call Logs, Contacts, audio and video files, APN and MMS Settings etc.

you need to enable the USB debugging mode by going to Settings/ Applications/ Development/ USB debugging.

the minimum battery level should be at least 70% so that your phone won’t power off while the rooting process is in progress.

all the Antivirus / Antimalware programs currently stored on your phone need to be deactivated because otherwise it might interfere and block the root.

How To Root AT&T Samsung Galaxy S N7000B:

First thing that you need to do is to download the Samsung Galaxy Note USB Drivers package. Save it on your computer and then install it.

Now, download the rooting TAR file for your Galaxy Note. Save it on your PC.

Download Odin and place it on desktop along with all the previous downloaded files.

Launch Odin and then turn off the phone.

Turn ON the phone and enter Download Mode. This can be done when pressing both ‘volume down key and OK button’ at the same time  and while doing this you need to press the Power button.

When the download mode is ON on your Galaxy Note you are free to connect it to your PC via USB cable. Odin should still be running.

When all the drivers have been installed, you should notice that the ID:COM box in ODIN turns yellow and that’s when you are free to move to the next step.

Click the ‘PDA’ button and select the files named ‘pda.tar’.

Click Start and the rooting process will begin.

After the root has been completed, the Galaxy Note will reboot and when the home screen is displayed make sure to disconnect the phone from your PC. This turns off the device.

Power it back on and enter Recovery Mode. It can be done by pressing the ‘volume down key + OK button’ both at the same time and while you’re holding these two buttons pressed, press the Power button also.

When in Recovery mode, you need to select the options labeled as ‘wipe data / factory rest’. Then select ‘Wipe Cache partition’.

Now select ‘Clear Dalvik Cache’ and then reboot your Samsung Galaxy Note. All the cache files will be removed now. Please note that if something goes wrong then you should reapply all the above steps from the beginning after removing and placing back in the phone’s battery.

If everything went accordingly to plan you need to go to Android Market and download the SuperUser application.

That’s it, now your device should boot correctly as it has been successfully rooted.
