YouTube Ordered To Court Video German To Perform Restrictions Violate Copyright

German court decided some time ago that the YouTube online video platform to install filters to prevent users from uploading music video whose rights are held by a music-royalty-collecting body.

German news agency DAPD reported that the Hamburg state court in a short time ago mostly sided with the German GEMA, which represents about 60,000 German writers and musicians.

GEMA takes Google Inc unit YouTube to trial more than 12 music videos while upload is not paid royalties.

YouTube has stated that they bear no legal liability for the content uploaded. Youtube said he would check and sometimes the content block when the company warned users about alleged violations of the law. It was not immediately clear whether it will appeal the decision.
